Whether they’re for snacking, dressing up a cookie or fruit tray, using atop a salad, or adding some holiday sparkle to cocktails, these sweet-tart cranberries get an extra dash of flavour using our Cinnamon Pear Balsamic. Cranberry Pear, Pomegranate or Honey Bell Orange would be fantastic flavour substitutes.
- 3 cups fresh cranberries
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup Della Terra Cinnamon-Pear Balsamic
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1-1/2 cups superfine sugar
Put the cranberries in a glass bowl. Put the water, Della Terra Cinnamon Pear Balsamic and 2 cups of the sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat. Let cool for 15 minutes. You don’t want the mixture to be too hot, or the cranberries will burst. Pour the mixture over the cranberries. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Drain the cranberries and toss them with the superfine sugar so they are well coated. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and let dry at
room temperature for at least 1 hour.
Toss a second time with extra
sugar if they are still sticky.
